The UAE is offering to support visitors and residents facing visa problems in the country.
UPDATE: UAE visa support event in Dubai stopped after one day
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) has created a pop-up at Deira City Centre where it will invite any person facing visa issues or problems to come forward.
Officials and staff from the will be at Deira City Centre from February 25 to February 27 and are asking people to come forward if they have issues or questions about visa status. “Our staff will be there to help people, to let people know what the procedure is if they have overstayed for one day, or overstayed for ten years,” Lieutenant-Colonel Salem bin Ali, Director of the Client Happiness Department at GDRFA, told ARN radio.
UAE visa support
Lieutenant-Colonel Salem bin Ali, Director of the Client Happiness Department at GDRFA told ARN radio: “Our staff will be there to help people, to let people know what is the procedure if they have overstayed for one day, or overstayed for 10 years.
“Don’t be afraid to visit us. We are going to find a solution and somehow we are going to clear your problem.”
The GDRFA says the campaign is aimed at “promoting a culture of compliance with entry and residence laws” in the UAE.
Earlier this month it was reported that tourists overstaying the duration of their visa face fines, possible absconding charges and even travel bans.
The campaign, known as “A Homeland For All” will be based at Deira City Centre from 10am to 10pm for three consecutive days.
