Apple supplier facing camera lens quality issues for iPhone 14. The Cupertino-based tech giant has diversified its iPhone 14 series suppliers to avoid launch delays due to component shortages, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who claimed last week that some of Apple’s suppliers for the iPhone 14’s panel and RAM experienced quality issues.
However, this should have a limited impact on mass production. Kuo now claims that Genius, another Apple supplier, is experiencing quality problems, this time with the iPhone 14’s rear lenses. According to Kuo, one of Genius’ iPhone 14 rear lenses most likely had coating-crack quality problems.

The analyst claims that Genius should be able to address the coating-crack issue within two months, and if it doesn’t, Largan will receive more orders from Apple for the lenses.

As a result, Apple transferred roughly 10 million lens orders to Largan in order to prevent delays in the production of the iPhone 14 since the Taiwanese business is able to fill the supply gap. The analyst asserts that Apple should place additional orders for the lenses from Largan if Genius is unable to resolve the coating-crack issue within two months.
The iPhone 14 series, which is supposed to include four versions (iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max), will reportedly be unveiled by Apple in September. A Mini version won’t be available. The iPhone 14 series will go on sale as scheduled assuming Apple doesn’t encounter any supply problems that would disrupt mass manufacturing.
