Honor has launched the Honor 500 series, and the lineup is showing that it is not only evolving in number but it is also increasing the competition, featuring a load of eye-catching specifications.
The Honor 500 series has two devices – the standard Honor 500 and the 500 Pro. Though the two share similar designs but some aspects make them different. Here’s what these two phones have to offer.
Design
The series has a flat frame design with round corners, creating a streamlined look, including a flat display with slim bezels accounting for only 1.05mm. The lineup is built with a seamless cold-carving process, achieving 96% light transmittance and radiating crystal aesthetics, which is reflected in its color options.
The rear side showcases a horizontal pill, expanding from left to right, consisting of a camera setup. It highlights the two left circles more than the rest of the camera system. The Honor 500 has two cameras prioritized with dedicated camera bumps, followed by an LED flash on the right.
The Pro version equips three lenses, two of them inside the left camera space, and there’s a third circle bumped out from the layout. Overall, the design is quite relevant to the modern approach and is protected with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.

Display
These two phone features 6.55-inch HDR AMOLED display, FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, ultra-high frequency PWM dimming, and 6000nits peak brightness. These specs may not raise your eyebrows, but the Honor 50 Pro’s display has a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which is a unique capability offered in this device range instead of an optical solution.

Camera
The Honor 500 Pro features a 200MP camera system with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and a f/1.9 aperture, supporting OIS and various AI features to support post-capture to improve photographs and videos. The second camera is a 50MP telephoto camera, and the third one is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle. On the other hand, the standard version lacks the 50MP telephoto camera. Honor says these new phones come with CIPA 5.0 mirrorless-level image stabilization for the most stable and clear images.
The phone prioritizes the young customers; therefore, it continues to offer a 50MP selfie camera and supports 4K video recording.

Performance
The Honor 500 and 500 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 chipsets, respectively. The performance is coupled with 12GB and 16GB RAM models, while the storage expands up to 1TB.

Battery
The Honor 500 series has a massive 8000mAh battery capacity, which fits within a 7.75mm thin body. This remarkable battery size provides an ultra-long gaming and entertainment experience.
The phone has a standby time of 26 days and a call time of up to 45 hours. If the cells go down, you can recharge the device with an 80W superfast charger and a 50W wireless charger.
