Looks like One UI 7’s Now Brief running on older Galaxy devices, Here’s how

Now Brief is a signature feature of Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 series. Backed by Personal Data Intelligence, Now Brief offers briefings to streamline your day. Samsung earlier hinted that Now Brief may not be available on older phones with One UI 7 update.

Samsung’s Sally revealed that Now Brief and some advanced AI features leverage modern processors like the Snapdragon 8 Elite. That said, the Now Brief feature was impossible to come to older phones with the One UI 7 release.

Meanwhile, hackers unlock Now Brief on almost every Samsung smartphone. The trick involved sideloading the latest version of Smart Suggestions app and a tricky yet risky step that you shouldn’t pursue on your daily driver.

X user DalgleishGX managed to bypass Now Brief restrictions, making it function on his Galaxy S23+ (another user enabled it on A52). The trick requires permitted access to System UI Tuner, which can’t be done without adb or root permissions.

Sideloading the Samsung Smart Suggestion app (v7.0.03.2) is the initial step towards getting Now Brief on your Galaxy. You need to get it manually from a third-party APK provider, which turns Personal Data Intelligence before you install.

System UI Tuner is the trick to enable Now Brief as you need to set Now Brief’s activity as a lock screen shortcut. After enabling it manually, you will get routine briefings right on the lockscreen but there’s a big catch.

Now Brief functions, but only Weather appears, and the widget doesn’t appear either. It’s like a trimmed down version, which Samsung may optimize for older Galaxy phones to expand with a One UI update in the future.
