Kirin A2 chip features and capabilities

Recently, Huawei announced the comeback of the Kirin A series chipset with the launch of the Kirin A2 chip with Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 earbuds. With that being said, it is time that we explore the features and capabilities of the Kirin A2 chip.

Faster Transmission:

Kirin A2 comes with 4 times improved signal transmission efficiency. It can deliver an 8 M Bluetooth physical transmission rate, which is a super-CD-level lossless transmission of audio signals, and presents listening with rich details and full sound quality.

Stable signal:

The new Kirin A series chip uses Polar code technology, which makes it the first to use such tech in the industry. Polar code improves the anti-interference ability by 2 times as compared to the predecessor, while protecting the lossless transmission without interference.


The chip is using dual DSP architecture with an increase of 50% in computing power. This helps to bring efficient signal processing capabilities, immersive space, and accurate noise cancellation. It also helps to achieve smooth calling and voice transition.

For those who don’t know, a digital signal processor (DSP) is a specialized microprocessor chip, with its architecture optimized for the operational needs of digital signal processing.


Audio Vivid:

With its increased computing power, Kirin A2 projects up to a 25% decline in latency. Allowing, high-resolution spatial audio experience.

Kirin A2 core details are currently unknown but another thing to know about this chip is power efficiency. The company is claiming to improve battery backup for wearables with Kirin A 2.
