Qualcomm has now officially announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset that powers the Galaxy S26 Ultra worldwide. The chip designer shed light on the product specifications and standout features.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy is built around Qualcomm’s 3rd-generation Oryon CPU. Qualcomm claims it is the fastest mobile CPU in the world and early performance scores justify what the company claims.
The upgraded Hexagon NPU handles on-device AI tasks, meaning personalization, image processing, and contextual features happen locally.
