Finally, it’s happening! Samsung just dropped the Android 15-based One UI 7 (BYD9) upgrade for Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in India. Samsung users have been patiently waiting for this upgrade since its initial release on April 7 in South Korea. The new OS upgrade is now rolling out to Beta participants as well as general users who didn’t join the Beta Program.
One UI 7 comes as the first major upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in India and around the world. The flagship devices are now eligible for six more Android upgrades and nearly six years of security patches.
While the One UI 7 distribution was significantly delayed, Samsung is making sure the One UI 8 will be provided to Galaxy devices at the usual time, with the debut set to happen with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in the next quarter.

Samsung is also rolling out the Stable One UI 7 update to several flagship models, including the Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, Tab S10 and Tab S9 series, the Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5 in South Korea.
Global rollout for these devices is scheduled for May 2025, however, Samsung may surprise users with an early distribution, but it isn’t guaranteed, as the pace of expansion depends on reliability.
Samsung has finally globalized One UI 7.0 software for Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 devices, and it’s time for you to check and download this new OS update.
One UI 7.0 is the biggest mobile software Samsung has ever released, featuring redesigned user interface elements, smooth animations and new customization options. Despite these upgrades, One UI 7.0 had a rough ride to land on consumer devices.
Its story began with a beta program in December 2024, which ran for four months. Yet, rollout ambiguity was haunting this massive overhaul, which remained unknown until mid-March when Samsung unveiled a global release schedule for different countries.
The first batch of One UI 7.0 rollout kicked off in early April, followed by a quick pause due to bugs that could ruin the user experience. The update remained in this halt phase for a few days before resuming for South Korean users.
This development arrived at a time when global S24, Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 users have been waiting in the queue. And after half of a month, it’s finally expanding the latest One UI update worldwide.
As of the time of writing this article, Samsung has initiated One UI 7.0 rollout for Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in countries from North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Users from these regions have shared screenshots and confirmed the OTA rollout.
Still, this is just a beginning of a bigger picture that will screen from this week. The rollout will be carried in batches, and many who haven’t received an OTA in the first round will have to wait for the upcoming phase.
You can check for a software update by going into Settings > Software update > Download and Install. Here you will see the newest downloadable package for your device.
