HUAWEI HAS ALREADY DEVELOPED ITS OWN CHIP AND CURRENTLY TESTING, IS KIRIN CHIP COMING BACK?

Good news seems to be on the way for all Huawei fans around the world. The company has seen its smartphone business paralyzed by multiple sanctions from the United States Commerce Department. Seeing how much users around the world were switching to Huawei devices, the Chinses tech company was not ready to sit back and watch its smartphone business go down the drain.

The company came out with its own Huawei Mobile Services to replace Google Mobile Services. It also enhanced the Huawei App Gallery to replace the Google Play Store. Huawei even went the extra mile to develop Huawei Petal Maps as a replacement for Google Maps and many more. The company’s mobile operating system, Harmony OS is also doing very well. The mobile OS is now the third largest mobile operating system in the world. Behind Android and iOS.

Huawei has shown a true fighting spirit, strength and persistency to get this far. The company did not just stop there, this is because the sanctions also affected its chipset business. Huawei’s Kirin chip was a real threat to the dominance of Snapdragon and Apple’s Bionic chip. However, the sanctioned kept the Kirin dream at bay.

HUAWEI IS TESTING ITS OWN CHIPHuawei Kirin Chip

For some time now, there has been numerous rumors of Huawei working on its own Chip (Kirin Chip) for Huawei Smartphones. These rumors seem to have moved to the next stage as new rumors have it that Huawei is already testing its own chip behind closed doors.

A Tipster close to the matter has disclosed that Huawei is already testing a self-developed chip in secrete. What he did not disclose however is the particular type of chip, when Huawei intends to launch it or the process node technology of the chip.

HUAWEI HAS PARTNERED WITH SEVERAL CHINESE CHIP COMPANIES

We have previously reported that Huawei was having close collaborations with Chinses semiconductor companies and partners to develop its own chipsets. However, developing such high-end chips will not be an easy task. US firms currently dominate this sector of chip making technology and Huawei wants to have a slice of that.
